It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are the only things left for a squad that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Certain people claim the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it's been a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the last Australia's opponents at this World Cup should hear.

In recent days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success succeeding success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.
